Bolton, CT- has received a Federal grant in the amount of $123,975 for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus.

Botsford Fire District, Newtown, CT- has received a Federal grant in the amount of $99,988 for Portable Radios.

Branford, CT Fire Department- Fire Chief Jack Ahern has announced he will retire at the end of the year.

Mashantucket Pequot, CT Fire Department (Foxwoods)- as of October 1, they will no longer be using the “F” designation for apparatus. They will become “Station 59” following the rest of Eastern Connecticut apparatus numbering system. The dispatch center will still be known as “Station PQ” on the air for identification purposes.

Taftville Fire Co (Norwich, CT)- has placed into service a 1990 International/Marion Rescue that will be utilized as a dive unit. It has previously served with the Mystic Fire District in Groton.

Thomaston, CT Regional Dive Team- has removed from service a 1996 International 4700/Excellence converted ambulance that was operating out of Watertown Fire Department as Dive 12. It had previously been assigned to the Thomaston Fire Department as Rescue 22. It has been removed from service due to mechanical reasons and will be replaced in the spring of 2015 with an 18' dive trailer.

Tolland, CT Fire Department- recently placed into service a 1989 Pierce Arrow 105' RMA. The unit previously served the Kensington Fire Co in Berlin, CT and was replaced by a 2013 Pierce Quantum 85' mid-mount tower.

Wilton, CT- Ronald Kanterman, a retired fire chief from Somers, NY, has been named interim fire chief. His one year contract begins June 1st.
