Bantam Fire Co, Litchfield Connecticut- Engine 35's 2001 Spartan Gladiator/Gowans Knight 1500/1000 has returned to service after being refurbished.

Bethlehem, Connecticut Ambulance- has opened new station across from the Bethlehem Fire Station. They had previously been housed with the fire department.

Bloomfield Center Fire Co, Bloomfield Conn- has purchased a 2007 Ford F-550/Firematic 300/400/15A brush unit from the Blue Hills Fire Co.

Branford, Connecticut Fire Department- Fire Chief Jack Ahern has retired after 30 years of service.

Branford Fire Department hopes for funds to build new Indian Neck/Pine Orchard Firehouse. CLICK FOR ARTICLE.

Branford, Connecticut Fire Department- Engine 4's 1997 Pierce Saber 1500/500 was refurbished in 2014 by Twin Lights and Repainted white over red.

Branford, Connecticut Fire Department- has appointed Deputy Thomas F. Mahoney Jr as the new Fire Chief.

Bridgeport, Connecticut Fire Department- (2) 2015 Chevy Suburan 4X4s have been assigned to Battalion 1 and Battalion 2.

Bristol, Connecticut Fire Department- has named Deputy Chief Jay Kolakoski to be the new Fire Chief.

Bristol, Connecticut Fire Department- Engine 4 will be moving to a temporary fire station on Pine Street starting in December. The reconstruction of the Kelly Road firehouse is expected to take approximately 8 months.

Bristol, Connecticut Fire Department- Engine 4 is running out of a temporary station on Lake Avenue until their quarters are finished being renovated and expanded.

Burlington, Connecticut Fire Department- construction on a new Lake Garda fire station should begin within the next few months.

Burville Fire CO, Torrington Connecticut- has replaced Engine 47's 1997 E-One with a used Spartan/Luverne pumper. No further details at this time.

Colchester Emergency Communications LLC (Connecticut)- the regional dispatch center will officially be disbanded on June 30, 2016. Currently the center handles fire and ambulance dispatching for Bozrah, Colchester, East Haddam, East Hampton, Haddam Neck, Marlborough and Salem as well as East Hampton Police and Middlesex Memorial Hospital Paramedics.

Cromwell, Connecticut Fire Department- some apparatus reassignments to report. Engine 1's 1997 KME has been reassigned as Engine 4. Engine 3's 2007 KME has been reassigned as Engine 1. Also, Attack 1's Ford mini-pumper has been placed out of service.

Cromwell, Connecticut Fire Department- Fire Chief Stephen Pendl has resigned. He was the first full-time paid fire chief for Cromwell.

East Hartford, Connecticut Fire Department- Deputy Chief Dave Olschefskie has retired after 32+ years of service.

East Hartford, Connecticut Fire Department- has placed a 2015 Ford F-250 in service as Car 3.

Ellington, Connecticut Fire Department- voters approved the purchase of 3.22 acres of land at 6 Nutmeg Drive for the buliding of a new fire station.

Fairfield, Connecticut Fire Department- has appointed Kyran Dunn as Deputy Chief. He previously served as the Assistant Chief of the Yonkers Fire Department in NY.

Fairfield, Connecticut Fire Department- has appointed Denis M. McCarthy as the new Fire Chief.

Greenwich, Connecticut Fire Department- has promoted Firefighter Erik Maziarz to the rank of Lieutenant.

Hamden, Connecticut Fire Department- has made the following promotions:

Hamden, Connecticut Fire Department- the body has been removed from former Rescue 1's 2006 Ford F-550 chassis and a brush package has been installed. It has been designated Brush 8 and is assigned to the volunteer station on Dunbar Hill Road. Former Brush 8's GMC/Pierce has been reassigned to Engine 15.

Hartford, Connecticut Fire Department- has made the following promotions:

Hartford, Connecticut Fire Department- will be renaming Station 16 in honor of Firefighter Kevin Bell. Firefighter Bell was killed in the line of duty on October 7, 2014 and was assigned to Engine 16 out of this station located at 636 Blue Hills Ave. A ceremony will be held on October 7th at 1600 hrs.

Jewett City Fire Co/AA Young (Griswold, Conn)- has placed into service a 2015 Ford F-550 w/ utility body as Squad 156.

Kent, Connecticut Fire Department- has acquired a 1986 FMC 1250/750 that has previously served in Watertown, CT. It has been designated Engine 5 (Kent 5). The recently acquired 2004 KME tower has been sent out to be refurbished. And, Kent 7's 1987 GMC/E-One haz/mat unit has been retired.

Ledyard Fire Co #1, Ledyard Connecticut- has placed into service a 2015 Ford F-250 4X4 as R-16.

Ledyard, Connecticut Fire Department- Fire Chief John Doucette will be leaving the fire department to accept a position with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Meriden, Connecticut Fire Department- has placed into service a 2008 Spartan/Crimson 1250/750. It has been assigned to Engine 5 and previously served as South Kingstown, RI Engine 18.

Milford, Connecticut Fire Department- has enacted the following changes: Engine 3 is now designated Quint 3. Engine 5 will become Quint 5 when the new 2015 Sutphen quint arrives and enters service. Rescue and Rescue 1 have been redesignated Medic 1 and Medic 2 respectively.

Milford, Connecticut Fire Department- has sent out Medic 2's 2005 International ambulance to have the body re-mounted to a new 2015 Dodge Ram 4X4 chassis.

Milford, Connecticut Fire Deparment- has changed a number of vehicle assignments:
Engine 2's 1994 Spartan/Smeal has been re-numbered to Engine 8
ex Engine 5's 1998 HME/Smeal has been re-numbered to Engine 2

Milton, Connecticut Fire Department- Assistant Chief Robert Healey has retired after 39 years of service. Assistant Chief Gary Baker has been sworn in as Fire Marshall and Battalion Chief Bernard Begley has been promoted to Assistant Chief.

Naugatuck, Connecticut Fire Department- Engine 5's 1995 Pierce Dash 1250/500 has returned from Bulldog after being refurbished.

Naugatuck, Connecticut Fire Department- Fire Chief Ken Hanks is retiring on August 28th.

Naugatuck, Connecticut Fire Department- has named Deputy Chief Ellen Murray as Interim Fire Chief.

Nepaug Fire CO, New Hartford Connecticut- Tanker 2 has returned to service after having the U.S. Tank body remounted to a new 2015 Kenworth chassis.

New Britain, Connecticut Fire Department- proceeds from opening day at a new Dunkin' Donuts will be donated to a fund for Lieutenant Michael Maloney. Lt Maloney is a 28 year veteran who has been suffering from a serious lung condition since December.

Wilton, Connecticut Fire Department- has taken delivery of a The 2015 Chevy Tahoe for Car 1 and a 2015 Ford E/Supreme Box truck. Both vehicles are currently being outfitted and are expected to be in service soon.

Yalesville Fire Co (Wallingford, Connecticut)- due to declining membership, the Yalesville Fire Co will consolidate with the North Farms Fire Co. Members will relocate to the new North Farms Station, 884 North Farms Road, effective January 1st.
