Ashaway, Rhode Island Fire District- has elected Frank Sposato as the new fire commissioner.

Barrington, Rhode Island Fire Department- with the closure of the Hampden Meadows Fire Co. (Engine 4) last July, their former 1994 Pierce has been reassigned to Fire Headquarters and renumbered as Engine 3 (reserve truck).

Bradford Fire Dist, Westerly Rhode Island- the Bradford Fire District was disbanded in 2014. Dunns Corner Fire has been contracted to provide fire services to this district. Engine 511's 1997 Spartan/Ferrara 1500/1000 has been sold to the Watch Hill Fire District and Engine 514's 2007 Spartan/Ferrara 1500/1000 has been sold to Dunns Corner. Unknown at this time this disposition of Engine 512 and the fire station.

Central Coventry, RI Fire Department- will appointed Peter J. Lamb as the new Fire Chief.

Coventry, Rhode Island- the Anthony Fire District has disbanded. No information yet on what will become of the station or apparatus.

Coventry Fire Dist (Coventry, Rhode Island)- voters overturned last years tax cuts that reduced the department from 17 firefighters to 9. No indication as to when the cut positions would be re-filled.

Cranston, Rhode Island Fire Department- the work on building an addition to Station 3 has been completed. As a result, Engine 9 and Rescue 8 have been moved to this firehouse. The department has also acquired a Humvee from the military.

Cranston and Narragansett, Rhode Island- both fire departments received Federal grants for training and equipment. CLICK FOR ARTICLE.

East Providence, Rhode Island Fire Department- has placed into service a 2015 Ford Expedition XLT for Battalion 1.

Electric Boat Fire Department, Rhode Island- has placed into service as 2015 Ford Explorer 4X4 as an incident command vehicle.

Hope Valley-Wyoming, Rhode Island Fire Department- Fire Chief Fred Stanley is set to retire after an astounding 51 years of service.

Jamestown, Rhode Island Fire Department- has placed into service a new 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Utility Slicktop as Car 5, which is an ALS intercept vehicle.

Little Compton, Rhode Island Fire Department- The current tanker was sold to the Elk Horn Iowa Fire Department in preparation for their new Ferrar tanker currently on order. Also Engine 1's 2005 American LaFrance has been sold to the Randolph Vol Fire Department in Guys Mills PA. Engine 1 will be disbanded replacing it will be a 2009 Ford F-650/E-One Medium Duty Squad. This truck was purchased from the Vinemont Providence Fire Department in Cullman Alabama.

North Scituate, RI Fire Department (Scituate)- has placed and order with Shipmans Fire Equipment for new Holmatro Rescue Tools.

Pawtucket, Rhode Island Fire Department- Fire Marshal Captain Robert F. Thurber Jr. is set to retire after 28 years of service.
