Cromwell, Connecticut Fire Department- Rescue 1's 1991 Simon-Duplex/Saulsbury Rescue has been retired. The rescue equipment has been moved to Engine 4's 1997 KME, which has changed designations to Tac 4. A new rescue truck is planned, but it is not known when if/when the new vehicle will be ordered. Middlefield, Connecticut Fire Department- has received a Federal grant in the amount of $152,620 and will be used to purchase 24 new firefighter breathing apparatus and 10 face pieces. Posted in August.
