Augusta, Maine Fire Department- Fire Headquarters Station has been closed while construction and renovation takes place. Companies will work out of the other 3 stations until construction is complete. Posted in May.

Biddeford, Maine Fire Department- funding has been approved to hire 2 additional firefighters. Posted in May.

Waterville & Winslow, Maine Fire Departments- Fire Chief David LaFountain has announced he will retire in June. He is the chief for both fire departments. Posted in March.

Waterville, Maine Fire Department- Captain Shawn Esler has been selected to be the next fire chief effective July 1st. He will also be the fire chief for Winslow, which was also the practice for the outgoing fire chief. Posted in May.

Wells, Maine Fire Department- Demolition is underway of the houses behind the Wells Police and Wells Corner Fire Stations on Route 1 at Route 109 making way for the new larger police and fire stations to be built on the same site. A Second new fire station will be built on Route 109 - Sanford Road replacing the current High Pine and Wells Branch stations. Both new stations will have 4 drive through bays and are scheduled to be completed in 2019. Posted in March.

Westport, Maine Fire Department- Fire Chief Robert Mooney has retired from his post as volunteer chief after 25 years of service, 11 of which was as chief. Posted in January.
