Cranston, Mass Fire Department- has appointed Assistant Chief Stephen MacIntosh as Acting Fire Chief. Posted in July.

East Providence, Rhode Island Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $807,220 for 74 portable radios, 3 mobile radios, 3 accountability systems, 10 AEDs and 13 cardiac monitors.

East Providence, Rhode Island Fire Department- 24 year veteran firefighter Joseph Burns has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Posted in October.

Harmony Fire District, Chepachet, RI- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $122,081 for 18 firefighter breathing apparatus and 7 face pieces.

Hianloland Fire (West Greenwich, Rhode Island)- ecently placed into service a 2003 HME/Ferrara 1250/1000/30F CAFS. Designated Engine 20, it had previously served the Hope Fire Company in Northern Cambria, PA. Posted in May.

Johnston, Rhode Island Fire Department- has placed an order for a HMA Ultra High Pressure Foam Fire Fighting Skid Unit that will be placed into a surpluss Humvee. The unit will be utilized for parking garage responses and brush fires. Posted in August.

Johnston, Rhode Island Fire Department- has received a $66,371 Federal grant to replace 48 SCBA air tanks. Posted in September.

Lake Mishnock (West Greenwich, RI)- recently placed into service a 1996 Pierce Dash 1500/500/40A. Designated Engine 1, it previously served in North Patchouge, NY. Posted in August.

Lime Rock, Rhode Island Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant for $77,743 to purchase two new defibrillators/cardiac monitors. Posted in September.

Little Compton, Rhode Island Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $97,429 for 14 firefighter breathing apparatus and training on same.

Middletown, Rhode Island Fire Department- has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $146,667 for 22 firefighter breathing apparatus.

Narragansett, Rhode Island Fire Department- has received a $70,000 Federal grant that will be used for training and to purchase air monitoring equipment to detect hazardous gasses. Posted in September.

Narragansett, Rhode Island Fire Department– has been awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $70,334 for Hazardous Materials monitoring equipment and Fire Officer training.

North Kingstown, Rhode Island Fire Department- has received a $79,743 Federal grant for firefighter personal escape devices and training for the devices. Posted in September.

North Providence, Rhode Island Fire Department- to add a 3rd rescue starting in February to reduce wait times for ambulances. CLICK FOR ARTICLE. Posted in January.

North Providence, Rhode Island Fire Department- has placed a third rescue into service full-time. Rescue 3 is now staffed, which was done by reassigning the members from Squad 1. Squad 1's 2017 E-One Typhoon has been reassigned to Engine 3. Posted in April.
