2021 MASSACHUSETTS APPARATUS DELIVERIES

Chelsea, Mass Fire Department- has taken delivery of a 2020 Pierce Enforcer pumper for Engine 2. It features a 1500 GPM Waterous pump, 750 gallon water tank and a Cummins L9 motor. Posted in January.

Dunstable, Mass Fire Department- has taken delivery of a new 2020 HME Ahrens-Fox 1871-SFO pumper for Engine 1. The pump and roll unit features a 1250 GPM pump, 1000 gallons of water and 30 gallons of foam. It replaces Engine 2's 1986 Ford/Boyer 750/500. Posted in January.

Fall River, Mass Fire Department- has placed into service a 2018 Ford F-450/Wheeled Coach 4x4 ambulance as Rescue 7. The unit is a former demonstrator and replaces a 2015 Ford F-550/Horton. Posted in January.

Joint Base Cape Cod, Mass- has recieved a new crash truck for Foam 404. The unit is a 2020 Oshkosh Striker 1500 with 2000 GPM pump, 1500 gallons of water, 210 gallons of AFFF and 500 lbs of dry chemical. It replaces a 1987 Oshkosh P-19. Posted in January.

Newton, Mass Fire Department- has taken delivery of a 2020 E-One Typhoon with 1250 GPM pump and 780 gallon water tank for Engine 2. It replaces a 2008 Pierce which as been reassigned as reserve Engine 11. Posted in January.

Onset, Mass Fire Department- has taken delivery of a 2020 KME Panther with 2000 GPM pump, 750 water tank and 40 gallons of A foam. It has been assigned to Engine 1 and replaces a 1988 Maxim. Posted in January.

Raynham, Mass Fire Department- has taken delivery of a 2020 Ford F-550/Life Line 4x4 ambulance for Rescue 2. It replaces a 2009 Chevy 4500/LifeLine. Posted in January.




2021 MASSACHUSETTS APPARATUS & VEHICLE NEWS

Fitchburg, Mass Fire Department- recently purchased a 1995 E-One Sentry 1000/750 for reserve Engine 3. It had previously served as Engine 4 in Lunenburg. Posted in January.

The Massachusetts Fire Academy- has acquired a 1989 Maxim 1500 GPM pumper with 1000 gallon water tank. It has been assigned as Engine 9 and previously served in Palmer as Engine 1. Posted in January.

Sheffield, Mass Fire Department- has placed into service a former Sheffield Police cruiser as Rescue 5. It will be used for EMS responses. Posted in January.

Cambridge, Mass Fire Department- Probationary Firefighter Patrick Morrissey has completed the recruit program at the Mass Fire Academy and will be assigned to Ladder 3. In addition to being a Navy veteran, Patrick is the son of Captain Rob Morrissey of Ladder 1 and the grandson of Firefighter Edward Morrissey (Sr.) of Ladder 2 (deceased). Posted in January.

Chelsea, Mass Fire Department- Captain Michael Thompson has retired. Posted in January.

Falmouth, Mass Fire Department- Timothy Smith appointed as new fire chief. CLICK FOR ARTICLE. Posted in January.

Hamilton, Mass Fire Department- Lieutenant Andrew Ellison has been promoted to the rank of captain. CLICK FOR ARTICLE. Posted in January.

Lowell, Mass Fire Department- firefighter and police officer praised for replacing woman's run over groceries. CLICK FOR ARTICLE. Posted in January.

Marlborough, Mass Fire Department- Recently appointed Firefighters Ralph Cacciapaglia and Dylan Conway have successfully completed the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy 10 Week Recruit Training Program. Dylan is the son of the retired Nashua, NH Fire Captain Rick Conway. Posted in January.

Newton, Mass Fire Department- Captain Mark Roche has retired after 35 years on the job. Mark is well known throughout the fire service and we all wish him well in his retirement. Posted in January.

Reading, Mass Fire Department- Firefighter Patrick Wallace has retired after 32 years of service. Posted in January.

Reading, Mass Fire Department- Captain Paul Guarino has retired after 33 years of service. He is a paramedic and registered nurse and has also held positions with Lawrence General ALS, Boston MedFlight, Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital. Posted in January.

Reading, Mass Fire Department- Firefighter On Probation Joseph Bialecki is the department's newest hire and began working at the start of the month. Joseph is a Paramedic and had previously been with the Middleton Fire Department since 2016. Posted in January.

Salem, Mass Fire Department- Fire Chief Gerry Giunta has announced he will retire on February 26th after 38 years of service. Posted in January.

Somerville, Mass Fire Department- District Chief Jay Keane has retired after 33 years of service. Posted in January.
