APRIL

The U.S. Coast Guard has decommissioned the 110' Island Class Cutter USCGC Mustang WPB-1310 in Seward, AK. Commissioned on August 29, 1986, the USCGC Mustang spent it's entire service career workout out of Seward.

MARCH

The U.S. Coast Guard has commissioned the 154' Fast Response Cutter John Witherspoon (WPC-1158) on April 3rd. The USCGC John Witherspoon is the 58th FRC to be commissioned, which are replacing the aging 110' Island Class cutters.

The U.S. Coast Guard has decommissioned the 110' cutter USCGC Nashon WPB-1311. Commissioned on October 3, 1986, the cutter's last home port was in Homer, AK. The Coast Guard has been retiring the older Island Class cutters and replacing them with the new Sentinel Class 154' cutters.
