Private Ambulance- American Ambulance Service is now the contract ambulance service for the communities of Eliot ME, Kittery ME and Somersworth NH. Additionally, Northeast Ambulance will now provide EMS service to the Maine towns of Camden, Rockport, Hope and Lincolnville. Previously these towns were serviced by the non-profit Camden First Aid Association. But, the service could no longer provide EMS without a significant increase in what the towns pay for service. According to a news article, many of the EMT's and Paramedics that provided care to those residents will also be working for Northeast Ambulance, thus keeping many of the familiar faces patients are used to seeing.
