Helen's husband Lawrence Firefighter Louis Giarusso died in the line of duty in the mid 1970's and her son Lawrence Firefighter Michael Giarusso passed away from 9/11 related illness after responding mutual aid to the WTC on 9/12/01 and spending many days and hours working at the scene and on the pile.

He was a 21 year veteran of the SPFD, a SWAT Paramedic for the Southern Maine Regional SWAT Team and a registered nurse at Southern Maine Health Care. Lt Weymouth leaves behind his Wife Kelly, 3 kids and family.

Loudon, NH Firefighter Charles L. Byrne, 78, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. A proud Army veteran, he was a 40 year member of the NH Army National Guard, a 30 year member of the Pembroke NH Fire Department, and a 21 year member of the Loudon Fire Department. Charlie was very active with the Loudon FD, and will be sorely missed.

LODD- Earling, IA Fire Chief Tom Henrich, 58, fell ill at a fire scene and passed away.
LODD- Hanover County, VA Lieutenant Brad Clark, 43, was killed and two firefighters badly injured when a tractor trailer struck their apparatus at a crash scene.
LODD- El Dorado Springs, MO Volunteer Firefighter Russ Hayes, 62, was killed in a motor vehicle accident when the pumper he was driving rolled over. He was taking it to have it's annual test done at the time of the crash.
LODD- Memphis, MI Volunteer Firefighter Robert James Phillips III, 62, passed away after being found unresponsive at home. He has responded to a call within the previous 24 hour period.
LODD- Oregon Firefighter Eric Aarseth, 20, died after developing pneumonia which became septic upon returning from a wildfire in Washington.
LODD- Sturgis, SD Assistant Chief David Fischer, 43, was killed in a propane takn explosion.
LODD- Queen Anne-Hillsboro, MD Volunteer Assistant Chief Daniel Lister passed away from a medical emergency that took place while he was working at a vehicle accident.

LODD- Orange Rural, NC Assistant Chief Jeff Holden died at the station after assisting with a trench rescue.
LODD- Draper City, CA Battalion Chief Matthew Burchett was killed battling the two wildfires known as the Mendocino Complex fire.
LODD- Friendship, OK Assistant Chief Madison Clinton Jr, 54, died from injuries received when a porch roof collapsed on top of him.
LODD- Dekalb County, GA Firefighter Barry Everett, 42, was found deceased in his bed at the fire station at shift change.
LODD- Englishtown, NJ Vol Firefighter Pasquale "Pete the Pepper" DiBenedetto, 68, passed away from a medical emergency that took place shortly after responding to an alarm.
LODD- Bulldozer Operator Don Smith was killed while working at the raging Carr Wildfire in California.
LODD- Captain Brian Hughes of the Arrowhead Hotshots was killed battling the Ferguson Fire near Yosemite when a tree fell on top of him.
LODD- Redding, CA Fire Inspector Jeremy Stoke, 37, was killed during the Carr Wildfire.
LODD- Howard County, MD Firefighter Nathan Flynn died from injuries received when he fell through a floor and became trapped while battling a multi-alarm structure fire.
LODD- New Hyde Park, NY Vol Firefighter Zachary Fazekas, 19, was killed in a motorcycle crash while travelling to an EMT training class.
LODD- California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection heavy equipment operator Braden Varney, 36, died when his bulldozer rolled over while building a firebreak to help stop a fire at Yosemite.
LODD- Hague, NY Volunteer Lieutenant Michael Cherubini, 71, fell ill while riding an apparatus in a parade and later passed away at his home.
LODD- Sun Prairie, WI Captain Cory Barr died from injuries he sustained in a natural gas explosion that destroyed several buildings on July 10th.
West Liberty, NC Volunteer Firefighter Michael Goodnight, 55, was killed in a motor vehicle crash responding to a call.
LODD- Philadelphia, PA Lieutenant Benny Hutchins, 62, passed away after suffering a medical emergency during training.
LODD- Auxtin, TX Fire Cadet Devon Coney, 34, passed away after suffering a medical emergency at the fire academy.
LODD- Paint Creek, OH Firefighter Joe Patterson died June 24th after an accident where a compressed air cylinder exploded at the fire station.
LODD- Long Beach, CA Captain Dave Rosa, 45, died from gunshots received while investitaging reports of a smell of gasoline at a senior care facility. Another firefighter was also seriously wounded in the incident.
LODD- Amelia County, VA Vol Firefighter William H. Moore IV, 48, suffered a fatal heart attack during training.
LODD- Perth Amboy, NJ Firefighter Doug Ambrozewycz died June 10th from complications when he was burned in a 1983 fire and contracted Hepatitis C through a blood transfusion.
LODD- Weatherford, TX Firefighter Andy Loller Jr., 42, suffered a medical emergency battling a wildfire on June 10th and died while being transported to a hospital.
LODD- East Side, NC Firefighter Dakota Snavely, 17, died June 10th in a vehicle accident after being dispatched to a water rescue.
LODD- Dover Twp, PA Firefighter Grant Froman, 55, suffered a heart attack while performing maintenance on a department vehicle and passed away on June 6th.
LODD- Chicago, IL Firefighter/Diver Juan J. Bucio, 46, passed away from injuries received during a dive rescue attempt on the Chicago River.
LODD- Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder William "Willie" Brinza, 64, of the Cowskin Rural Fire District in OK passed away after suffering a medical emergency while responding to a call in the fire apparatus.
LODD- Hudson, NY Volunteer Firefighter Mark A. Graziano, 47, was found unresponsive less than 12 hours after responding to a fire. He was unable to be revived.
LODD- Las Vegas, NV Captain Theo Adams, who was paralyzed in a 2003 apparatus rollover, passed away on May 1st as a result of these injuries.
LODD- Rostraver, PA Volunteer Firefighter Michael Godzak passed away after suffering a medical emergency while returning from a response.
LODD- Lawrence, IN Firefighter Jeffrey Holt, 60, suffered a cardiac episode at the fire station and passed away following his annual physical assessment training.
LODD- Rocky Mount, VA Volunteer Firefighter Herbert "Butch" Wilcox, 77, passed away after responding to two fires.
LODD- Fort Benning, GA Firefighter Gregory Jackson, 50, fell ill at the end of his shift and passed away several days later.
LODD- Decatur County, GA Firefighter Adam Taylor, 30, passed away after suffering chest pains while on duty and participating in training.
LODD- Greenlawn, NY Vol Firefighter/Paramedic M. Kent Stillwagon, 52, passed away from an aparent heart attack after responding to several calls.
LODD- Reynolds, NC Fire Chief Richard Sales, 52, was killed in a crash as he was headed to a fire safety conference.
LODD- North Richland Hills, TX Firefighter Caleb Scott, 29, passed away after suffering a heart attack on duty.
LODD- Baytown, TX Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal Bernard Olive, 68, passed away suddenly while on duty. The cause has yet to be determined.
LODD- Mapleton, MN Vol Firefighter Timothy Royce, 58, passed away from a heart attack after responding to several emergency calls.
LODD- Madison, WI Firefighter/Paramedic Richard L. Garner Jr., 29, collapsed and died on April 1st following a 48-hour shift.
LODD- Ellinger, TX Firefighter Larry Marusik passed away from complications of severe burn injuries he sustained battling a grass fire on March 10th.
LODD- Two Pratt, WV Firefighters - Assistant Fire Chief Michael Edwards, 46, and Lieutenant Tom Craigo, 40 - were killed when the apparatus they were riding in rolled over.
LODD- Two York, PA Firefighters - Zachary Anthony, 29, and Ivan Flanscha, 50 - were killed in a building collapse.
LODD- FDNY Firefighter Michael Davidson, 37, of Engine 69 was killed battling a 5 alarm fire.
LODD- Belle Chasse, LA Vol Firefighter Allen Headley, 31, was found unresponsive in the fire station and passed away from the event.
LODD- New London, TX Vol Firefighter M.V. Hudson, 86, passed away from injuries received in a tanker rollover on February 28th.
LODD- Cobb County, GA Firefighter Stacey L. Boulware, 44, passed away after collapsing at the fire station.
LODD- Lavale, MD Assistant Chief Christopher Pryor, 45, fell ill after responding to a vehicle accident and passed away.
LODD- Hinesville, GA Captain Earnest McDuffie, 51, passed away after suffering a medical emergency during physical fitness training.
LODD- Lawrenceburg, TN Firefighter Jason Dickey, 38, was killed at a house fire when the structure collapsed.
LODD- West Felicianam CA Deputy Fire Chief Russell Achord, 48, was struck and killed while working at a motor vehicle crash.
LODD- Wamego, KS Firefighter John Randle, 67, passed away after falling off a piece of fire apparatus.
LODD- Philadelphia, PA Lieutenant Matthew LeTourneau, 42, was killed after he was trapped by debris from by structural collapse.
Thomas "Tim" J. McCue Jr. of New Kent, VA passed away on December 27, 2017. He was the Fire Chief at the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne, NJ and was know for his modeling column in Fire Apparatus Journal.
