On March 17th, 2006 the Winthrop Fire Department took delivery of a 2006 Pierce Dash 105-foot, rear-mount ladder truck. The truck was purchased for the town by the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority. It is fully equipped with new tools and equipment. On April 8th, the truck was put in service. It replaces a well worn 1993 HME/Pierce 75' ladder truck. Photos and story by Doug Boudrow.
