2023 CONNECTICUT APPARATUS DELIVERIES (New and Used)

AA Young/Jewett City (Griswold, CT) has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan Gladiator/Smeal 1500/1000 for Engine-Tank 156. Posted in October.

Allingtown Fire in West Haven has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan/Smeal pumper. It is powered by a Cummins L9 motor and features an Allison 3000EVP transmission, Waterous CSU 1500 GPM pump and carries 750 gallons of water & 30 gallons of foam. Electricity is provided by a Smart Power 6 kw hydraulic generator. Posted in March.

Allington Fire Department welcomes their 1st female firefighter. CLICK FOR ARTICLE. Posted in December.

Bantam Fire has refurbished the 4-Guys 18' rescue body from their 1995 International rescue truck and remounted it to a 2022 Spartan FC-94 chassis. The refurbishment and remount was done by Gowans-Knight. Posted in April.

Barkhamstead East Fire has taken delivery of a 2022 Ford F-550/Firematic B.R.A.T. brush unit with 300 GPM pump, 300 gallon water tank and 10 gallon foam tank. Posted in February.

Beacon Hose No 1 in Beacon Falls has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Saber 1500/1000 for Engine 1. It replaces a 1995 International/Gowans-Knight. Beacon Hose has also taken delivery of a 2023 Western Star/Marion for Tanker 2. Posted in November.

Bethany Fire recently took delivery of a 2023 Ford F-550 4x4/Life Line Paraliner ambulance for 2-Lima-8. Posted in June.

Bridgewater Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer walk-around rescue for Rescue 5. Posted in January.

Bridgeport Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 100' MM Tower for Tower-Ladder 6. Posted in October.

Bungay Fire in Woodstock recently took delivery of a 2022 Dodge 5500 4x4/C&S light rescue for Squad 177. Posted in February.

Canton Fire had taken delivery of a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 5500/Bruan ambulance for Car 10. Posted in May.

Colchester Fire has completed final inspection on Engine 128 and Engine 328's Pierce Enforcer 2000/750/30F pumpers and Truck 128's Pierce Arrow XT Ascendant 100' MM Tower. Delivery to the department will take place in the coming weeks. Posted in December.

Columbia Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2023 E-One Cyclone eMax pumper with 1500 GPM pump and 750 gallon water tank. It has been desginated Squad 105. Posted in March.

The Community Fire Company in Thompson has purchased a 2000 Sutphen 2000/470/30F/75' tower from the Johnstown, PA Fire Department. The unit will be placed into service after some modifications and training. Posted in August.

Coventry Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 1500/1000 pumper. Posted in January.

Cromwell Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2022 Ford F-550/ PL Custom 4x4 ambulance. It is powered by a 6.7 PowerStroke diesel engine and equipped with a Stryker PowerLoad. Posted in April.

Cromwell Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer PUC 1250/750/25F for Squad 1. Posted in May.

Deep River Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2022 Spartan/2023 Gowans-Knight pumper for Enigne 5-5-1. Posted in March.

East Granby Fire has purchased a 1998 Simon-Duplex/LTI 75' rear-mount tower. The unit previously served with the Terryville Fire Department in Plymouth, CT. Posted in April.

East Granby Tower 108's 1998 Simon-Duplex/LTI 75' Twr has been delivered to the department after being refurbished by Gowans-Knight. It had been purchased earlier this year and had previously served with the Terryville, CT Fire Department. Posted in September.

East Putnam Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Kenworth/Fouts 1250/3000 for Tank 179. Posted in May.

Enfield Fire District #1 has taken delivery of a 2022 Pierce Enforcer 1500/500/75' RMA for Engine 12. Posted in January.

Essex Fire Engine Company #1's new 2023 Pierce Enforcer non-walk in heavy rescue has completed final inspection. Delivery of Rescue 6-9 is expected to take place by the end of December. Posted in December.

Essex Vol Ambulance has taken delivery of a 2023 Ford F-450/Horton ambulance for Ambulance 64. Posted in December.

Fairfield Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2022 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750 pumper for Engine 2. The current Engine 2 will be reassigned to Engine 5. Posted in February.

Hartford Fire has purchased former Suffield, CT Engine 4's 1999 Pierce Dash and Engine 5's 2001 Pierce Dash for use at their training academy. Posted in December.

Lisbon Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 1500/1500 for Engine-Tank 154. Posted in May.

Manchester Fire/Rescue recently took delivery of a 2022 Spartan MetroStar/Marion 2000/750 pumper for Engine 1. The 2012 Sutphen that had been Engine 1 has been reassigned to Engine 7. Posted in February.

Marlborough Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan/Rescue 1 walk-around heavy rescue for Rescue 117. Posted in October.

Meriden Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan/Smeal 1500/500 pumper for Engine 1. Posted in October.

Montville Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 KME Panther 2000/1000 for M-12. Posted in October.

Mashantucket Pequot Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 100' RM heavy duty tower with a 2000 GPM pump and 300 gallon water tank. It will be designated Tower 1. Posted in February.

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750 for Engine 1. Posted in October.

New Britain Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan Gladiator/LTC 110' RMA for Ladder 2. Posted in September.

New Fairfield Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Ford F-550 4x4/PL Custom ambulance for 91-1. Posted in May.

Pratt & Whitney Fire in East Hartford has taken delivery of a 2022 Kenworth/Marion/Fouts rescue truck for Rescue 14. Posted in February.

Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Service has taken delivery a new 2022 Ford F-550/PL Custom ambulance for Ambulance 1. It is powered by a 6.7 PowerStroke diesel engine and equipped with a Stryker PowerLoad. Posted in April.

Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association recently took delivery of their newly remounted 2022 Ford E-450/2015 PL Custom ambulance. Prior to remounting the body, any damage or corrosion was repaired prior to receiving new paint and graphics. The unit is designated 128-1. Posted in April.

South Fire District in Middletown recently took delivery of a 2022 Pierce Enforcer PUC 1500/100/30F former Demo for Engine 32. Posted in April.

Southbury Fire has taken delivery of two (2) 2023 International/4 Guys 1000/2800 tankers for Tanker 10 and Tanker 11. Posted in August.

Sterling Fire's new rescue/pumper has been completed at the factory. Built by Marion on at Spartan chassis, the new unit will be delivered to the department after outfitting at the local dealer. Posted in February.

Storm Fire Company in Derby has taken delivery of a 2022 Ford F-550/PL Custom 4X4 ambulance for FD-10. Posted in March.

Suffield Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Kenworth/E-One 2000 gallon tanker for Tanker 3. Posted in October.

Suffield Fire Department has taken delivery of a 2023 E-One Typhoon E-Max rescue/pumper for Squad 1. Posted in November.

Terryville Fire in Plymouth has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Velocity 100' MM Tower for Tower 1. Posted in March.

Thomaston Fire has taken delivery of a 2022 Spartan/Ferrara pumper for Engine 2. They also have taken delivery of a Dodge Ram 5500 utility which will be designated Engine 4. Posted in January.

Thompsonville Fire in Enfield has taken delivery of a 2023 Spartan/Marion rescue-pumper for Squad 21. Posted in October.

Union Fire Department has placed into service a 2002 Spartan MetroStar/Rescue One rescue truck. It has previously served in Roscoe, NY and features a Cummins diesel motor, automatic transmission, 25KW generator, ResqTec hydraulic tools and a cascade system. It has been designated Rescue 172. Posted in January.

Waterbury Fire has taken delivery of their new 2022 Spartan/LTC 93' mid-mount platform. It is powered with a Cummins ISX driven through an Allison 4000EVS w/retarder. Electrical power provided by a Harrison 10 kw hydraulic generator. It will be assigned to Truck 2. Posted in February.

Waterbury Fire has purchased a 2007 Seagrave heavy rescue. It previously served with the Bellmawr, NJ Fire Department as Rescue 32. Posted in April.

Waterbury Fire has placed into service a 2022 Ford F-750 box truck as Collapse 9. Posted in September.

West Shore Fire in West Haven has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750 for Engine 31. Posted in August.

Winchester Fire has taken delivery of a 2023 Kenworth T480/Spartan wet side tanker. It is equipped with a Pacaar PX-9 diesel motor, Allison 3000EVS transmission, Waterous CSU 1500 gpm pump, and 3000 gallon water tank. July 2023.

Wolcott Fire Company 3 has taken delivery of a 2023 Pierce Arrow XT 100' RM Tower for Tower 1. Posted in June.

Simsbury Fire Chief James Baldis is retiring. He has been chief since January 2005 and has led the department through many painful incidents such as Hurricane Irene in 2011 and the Windsor Locks plane crash in 2019 along with the sudden deaths of Deputy Chief Jepeal and Fred Cosgrove. Chief Baldis a member for almost 50 years has served many roles in the department. He is very active in the Hartford County Regional Fire School and is well respected. Posted in August.

Somers Fire Department formally dedicated their training facility in honor of former Chief William Meier, Jr on April 22nd. He passed away in 2020. Posted in April. CLICK FOR ARTICLE

Suffield recently swore in Scott Cunningham as the new fire chief. Posted in July.

Thomaston Fire has recently returned their 1999 Peterbuilt/S&S tanker back to service after refurbishment. The S&S 3000 gallon stainless steel water was replaced with a new 3000 gallon UPF stainless wrapped poly tank. Also the pump was upgraded to Hale 1250 gpm pump. While the tank was removed, the frame was cleaned/sanded and given a fresh coat of paint. The body was repainted and rear graphics were updated. Posted in August.
