LODD- Brookline, MA Lieutenant Kenneth J. Fields passed away from job related cancer.

Firefighter Kevin Regan of the Westfield, MA Fire Department was killed when he was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing the street. His finance Linda was also struck and seriously injured.

Retired Haverhill, MA Captain David F. Curtin passed away on December 23, 2014 at the age of 79.

Retired Falmouth, ME Fire Chief James Frederick passed away at the age of 77 on December 26, 2014.

Lieutenant Guy Wells, 50, of the Old Saybrook, CT Fire Department passed away from complications with diabetes.

Firefighter John Guide, 51, of the Winthrop, MA Fire Department passed away suddenly on December 17th.

Retired Boston, MA Lieutenant Neal A. Mullane Sr passed away from cancer on December 12th at the age of 71. My condolences to his son Neal Jr, a captain in Boston fire, whom I went to the academy with.

Retired New Haven, CT Lieutenant Gary Tinney, 82, passed away on December 5th.

Nottingham, NH Fire Department Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Association Vice-President Diane Nugent passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Old Orchard Beach, ME Retired Call Deputy Chief Edward Davis passed away on December 1st.

Ansonia, CT retired Fire Chief Frederick W. Tanner passed away on December 1st at the age of 86.

Brooksville, ME Volunteer Firefighter and former selectman Darrell Fowler passed away at the age of 67 after a battle with cancer.

Former Hamilton, MA Fire Chief Robert Arthur McRae, 89, passed away on November 1st.

Retired Quincy, MA Deputy Chief Theodore F. Kressler Jr, 86, passed away on November 4th.

Pittsfield, MA Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Kilmer, 60, passed away suddenly from an apparent heart attack while off duty.

Retired Rye, NH Fire Chief Leon Blaisdell passed away.

Retired Acton, MA Firefighter Dan Morse passed away on October 25, 2014. He was hired in March of 1982 and retired in August of 2005. He was also Past President of Acton Firefighters Local 1904.

Retired Wallingford, CT Assistant Fire Chief Steve Hacku passed away on October 14, 2014 at the age of 87.

Retired Cumberland Hill, RI Fire Chief Joseph D. Carbon passed away at the age of 85.

LODD- Hartford, CT Firefighter Kevin Bell, 48, was killed battling a fire on October 7th.

Retired Stoneham, MA Firefighter Stan Waite passed away on October 6.

Chief Donald Campbell of the Hope-Jackson Fire Company in Scituate, RI has passed away at the age of 74. Chief Campbell has been a member of the Fire Company since 1967, previously a member of Bristol and Warren RI Departments. He served as Chief of Hope-Jackson for 21 of the last 24 years, was also past President of the RI Association of Fire Chiefs.

Retired Brockton, MA Firefighter Alfred Svirtunas, 71, passed away in a car crash which was the result of a medical emergency.

Jay, ME Police and Fire Chief Larry White Sr. has passed away after a battle with cancer.

Former Monroe, ME Fire Chief Reginald Mitchell passed away.

Retired Hyannis, MA Firefighter Bob McGorty passed away on October 8. He was a charter member of Hyannis Firefighters Local 2172.

Retired C-O-MM, MA Senior Private Horace Manley “Gus” Crosby III – Age 73 – Passed away Sept 19, 2014. He was the first permanent firefighter (fireman, in the day) hired by Centerville-Osterville Fire Department (COMM FD) in 1966. He was a founding charter member of IAFF Local 2346 and served 33 years prior to his retirement in 1996.

Northborough, MA Native Brian K. Arsenault, a Specialist with the U.S. Army, was killed in action in Afghanistan on September 4th.

Call Firefighter Steve Mickle of the Ayer, MA Fire Department was killed in a motorcycle accident in Maine on September 2nd.

Retired Wakefield, MA Firefighter John Lockhart passed away suddenly last week at age 71.

Retired Concord, NH Deputy Chief Joseph M. Wescott passed away on August 30th at the age of 86. Chief Wescott was appointed to the Concord Fire Dept on February 17, 1962 after serving several years as a patrolman with the Concord and Manchester Police Departments. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1966, Captain in 1970, and Deputy Chief in 1973. He retired from the Concord Fire Department on March 29, 1980. “Deputy Joe” as he was known throughout the department remained active and engaged in Fire Service after his retirement, frequently visiting Concord Fire Stations to share his knowledge, experience, intensity, and love for “The Job” with generations of Concords Bravest. Deputy Joe also authored two books, "The Face of the Beast" and "Class-A Instant Fire Behavior, Flashovers and Backdrafts". They were the stories of some of the fires and his years in the fire service, and those brave men he worked beside. He was a proud young air force veteran of Korea, serving as MP and later in strategic security in New England. His son Sean is a full time Firefighter in Manchester, NH.

Retired Gay Head, MA (now Aquinnah) Fire Chief Walter Eugene Delaney passed away at the age of 84.

Retired Holyoke, MA Lieutenent Fernand Monast passed away in 2012 while living in Bristol, TN. Current members only recently got word of his death.

Retired Mansfield Fire Call Captain Robert "Red" Button has passed away. "Red" began his career with the department in 1966. He was promoted to Captain of "Ladder One" in 1981, and filled the roll of a "Night Man" from 1983-1990. "Red" retired from the Fire Department as a Call Captain in 1996. He continued to serve Public Safety as a Dispatcher from 1998 until this year. Throughout this entire time Robert Button served, with distinction, as the Director of the Mansfield Emergency Management Agency.

Retired Newton, MA Fire Chief Joseph S. Daniele passed away on August 29th at the age of 77 after a long battle with cancer.

Long time Walpole area fire buff and photographer Byron Hurst has passed away. Byron shared many of his photos that he took in the 1980's and early 90's with my site. He was a gentleman and a kind soul and he will be missed by many. Fair Seas and Following Winds Byron.

Long time West Ridge (North Haven CT) Firefighter Salvatore "Sam" Muzio passed away at the age of 84.

Former Cambridge, VT Fire Chief Howard Cary passed away at the age of 66.

Retired Coventry Fire District Fire Chief Stanley J. Mruk Sr passed away on August 22nd at the age of 88.

Retired Bristol, RI Firefighter Louis J. "Chi Chi" Cirillo passed away.

Retired Maine Fire Chief David Rand passed away at the age of 72 after a long battle with lung cancer. He served as the fire chief in both Bar Harbor and Lincoln as well as assistant chief in Bangor.

Former New Britain, CT Fire Chief Mark Carr passed away at the age of 50 after battling an illness.

Firefighter Gary E. Wrubleski, 56, of the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department passed away on July 5th. He had also served as a member of the Dudley, MA Fire Department and as a paramedic with Webster (MA) EMS.

Retired Winchester, MA Captain Norman J. Delorey, 80, passed away on August 7th.

Retired Hudson, MA Fire Chief and Former Director of the Mass Fire Academy Bill Hollick passed away.
Following his wishes, there are no calling hours, and burial will be private in the Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the:

Retired Belmont, MA Captain E. Paul Doherty passed away on July 26th. He was known as "GI" for his WWII service and also served as Civil Defense Director.

Retired Fairfield, CT Captain Louis F. Stopa passed away at the age of 88.

USMC LODD- Lance Corporal Brandon Garabrant, 19, from Rindge NH was killed by a roadside bomb along with 2 other Marines. He was also Temple, NH Volunteer Firefighter.

Retired- Former Hopkinton, MA Lieutenant Dick Bartlett passed away on June 17, 2014. He was a well known photographer in the Boston-Metro West area and worked for E.J. Murphy fire apparatus for many years.

Box 52 Member- Board of Directors regrets to announce the death of Exempt Member Edmund T. Girard. Mr. Girard was sworn into membership on November 10, 1989. May his soul rest in peace.

Active- Portland, ME Captain Michael Kucsma, 43, died in an off-duty SCUBA accident.

Retired- Norwell, MA Retired Fire Chief George Cavanagh passed away at his home in Floriday on June 5th.

Former Boston EMS- William Hackett, formerly of Peabody, passed away from cancer in Henderson Nevada on April 30, 2014 at the age of 59. Bill was a former Boston EMS back in the 70's early 80's then moved to Dunedin Florida as a full time police officer, he later moved to Las Vegas NV working as a K-9 handler for the Winn Casino group. In 2003 he went to work as a K-9 bomb sniffing dog handler for American K-9 and did 3 tours in Iraq and two in Afghanistan. He became ill in December of 2013 and passed away from brain cancer on April 30, 2014 after a 5 month battle. He leaves his partner of 20 years Sharon Jonson, two sisters Mary of Chelmsford Ma and Kathy of Kennebunk ME. He will be missed by his many friends on the Boston, Chelsea, Peaboy and Salem Fire Departments.

Active- Berlin, NH Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Call Department Lieutenant Richard “Red” Girard on 06/12/2014. Lieutenant Girard was an active thirty eight year member.

Waltham, MA Retired Firefighter Anthony Gullotti passed away on May 26th.

LODD- Deputy Chief David Fiori, 59, passed away on 5/26/14 after suffering a fatal heart attack while on duty. He had 36 years on the job.

Retired- Beacon Hose CO, CT Retired Chief Frank "Rinky" DelVecchio, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 15th.

Police LODD- Brentwood, NH Police Office Steve Arkel was killed in the line of duty on Monday May 12th.

LODD- Norway, ME Captain/Safety Officer David Millett passed away from a medical emergency after responding to an emergency call on May 10th.

Retired- Central Falls, RI Retired Battalion Chief Edward J. McCann passed away on May 12th at the age of 84.

Retired- Weston, MA Retired Firefighter Ross Giamo, 69, perished in a fire at his home.

Retired- Warwick, RI Retired Deputy Chief Chester S. Reynolds passed away on May 5th.

Active- Duxbuty, MA Active Duty Firefighter John E. Thomas passed away.

Retired- Worcester, MA Retired Firefighter Steven C. Raffa passed away.

Honorable Mention- My sincerest condolences go out to Box 52 Member and former Coastie John McGuire on the loss of his wife. Justine McGuire passed away on April 27th at the age of 72. Retired- Middleton, MA Retired Fire Chief David Thomas Leary Sr passed away.

Police LODD- Boston Police Officer Dennis O. Simmonds passed away after suffering a medical emergency while on duty. Officer Simmonds was a highly decorated and beloved member of the Boston Police Department. He served the Department with dedication for 6 years. He was appointed in 2008, assigned to District B-3 and in 2012 became a member of the Youth Violence Strike Force. He was 28-years-old. Officer Simmonds was honored with the Schroeder Brothers Memorial Medal for his bravery during the initial Watertown shoot-out following the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings.

Retired- Amesbury, MA Retired Lieutenant Ron Welch passed away.

Police LODD- Plymouth, MA Police Officer Gregory Maloney was killed in an on duty motorcycle accident.

Retired- South Portland, ME Retired Lieutenant Robert Williams passed away on April 5th. He served the department from 1965-1990.

Retired- Lawrence, MA Retired Deputy Chief Charles W. Laverty, 87, passed away on April 8th.

LODD- Lieutenant Ed Walsh, 43, and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, 33, of the Boston Fire Department were killed after becoming trapped in the basement of a burning building.

Active- Firefighter Arthur J. Moscufo, 64, of the Medford, MA Fire Department passed away suddenly on March 23rd.

Active- Captain Steve McKenna, 54, of the Salem, NH Fire Department passed away from cancer on March 18th. He also had served with the Keene and Westmoreland Fire Departments.

Retired- Bridgeport, CT Retired Deputy Chief William "Bill" Schietinger, Jr passed away on 3/14/14 at the age of 79.

Retired- Bangor, ME Retired Assistant Chief Vance Tripp Jr has passed away.

Active- Firefighter William "Billy" C. Trapnell IV of the South Berwick, ME Fire Department passed away on December 30, 2013 at the age of 28. William was also a member of the York Volunteer Fire Department, a paramedic with the York Ambulance Association and an active petty officer with the U.S. Coast Guard. He also was an Army veteran.

Retired- Brockton, MA Retired Fire Chief Edward "Sonny" Burrell, 99, passed away on January 15th. He was the last surviving member that worked the Strand Theater Fire in 1941.

Retired- North Smithfield, RI Retired Deputy Chief Andre J. Remillard 89, passed away on January 14th.

Retired- Cranston, RI Retired Lieutenant Albert E. Suter, 82, passed away on January 14th.

Retired- Vincent M. Jarosz, 62, of Newmarket NH passed away on January 3, 2013. He was a former EMT and long time member and past president of the Newmarket Ambulance Corps. He was also a former member of the Newmarket Fire Department and was an assistant Civil Defense Director.

Retired- Danielson, CT retired Fire Chief Richard Levola passed away at the age of 73.

Active- East Litchfield, CT Volunteer Firefighter Christopher Watts, 22, passed away from injuries received in an automobile accident.

Retired- Killingworth, CT retired fire chief Raynor W. Clark, 76, passed away on January 4th.

Retired- Milford, CT retired Captain and Fire Commissioner Rev. Roland E. "Ron" Gray, 80, passed away on January 4th.

LODD- Jersey City, NJ Firefighter James Woods, 44, passed away at home suddenly after working a shift at the firehouse.

LODD- Chief Ricky Wooten Doub of the Forbush, NC Vol Fire Department was found dead in his home after responding to several emergency calls.

LODD- Inwood, NY (Long Island) Firefighter Joseph Sanford Jr, 43, was killed in a collapse while battling a house fire.

LODD- Philadelphia, PA Firefighter Joyce Craig-Lewis was killed at a house fire after becoming trapped in the basement.

LODD- Hardin County, TN Volunteer Firefighter Gus Losleben was killed in a motor vehicle crash when the tanker he was driving collided with a logging truck.

LODD- Lakeville, OH Volunteer Firefighter Firefighter Tom Rhamey passed away after falling ill at a fire scene.

LODD- Myrtle Beach, SC Lieutenenat John Burns, 50, was found unresponsive in his bunk at the firehouse and was unable to be revived.

LODD- Cinnaminson, NJ Lieutenant Christoper Hunter, 38, passed away at home following a shift.

LODD- St. James, NY Firefighter Richard Weisse Sr., 59, passed away after becoming ill at a department event.

LODD- Brownsville, TX Firefighter/Medic Alejandro Castro, 40, was found unresponsive in the station and was not able to be revived.

LODD- Baltimore, MD Lieutenant James Bethea was found dead at the scene of a fire investigation.

From Australia, Mt Templeton CFS Volunteer Firefighter Andrew Harrison, 38, was killed after suffering burns battling a fire. He leaves behind a wife and 2 children.

Sanborn, NY Volunteer Firefighter Donald “Pete” Martin, 84, passed away after becoming ill when reporting to the station for a call. He had 53 years with the department.

New Orleans, LA Captain Troy Magee, 39, fell ill at a training evolution and passed away.

LODD- Robert Fulton Fire CO, PA Firefighter Christi Rodgers, 26, suffered a fatal heart attack after being summoned to a fire scene.

Alton, MO Fire Chief Eddie Johnson Jr., 45, was killed in a motor vehicle accident responding to a call.

LODD- Contracted CalFire pilot Geoffrey C. Hunt, 62, passed away after his air tanker crashed.

Dermott, AR Assistant Chief J.B. Hutton Jr collapsed at a brush fire and was pronounced dead at the local hospital.

Retired FDNY Firefighter Dan Heglund of Rescue 4 passed away after losing his battle with an illness related to the WTC collapse. He retired in 2003 due to this illness. This Facebook page was established in his honor. CLICK HERE.

LODD- East Islip, NY Firefighter Allen Westby was found deceased at his home after responding to a call the day before.

LODD- Anderson Township, OH Firefighter/Paramedic Kevin Ollier passed away suddenly the morning after responding to an odor of gas call.

LODD- Coldsprings-Excelsior, MI Assistant Chief William Wilta, 47, passed away from a sudden medical emergency 3 hours after responding to a call.

LODD- Justice, NC Firefighter John Gupton, 24, was killed when the tanker truck he was driving rolled over.

Byram, NJ Volunteer Firefighter Rich Choate, 66, was found unresponsive several hours after responding to a call.

The Moorestown, NJ Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Thomas Poole, Past Assistant Chief of the Moorestown Fire Department and Life Member of Relief Engine Company No. 2, Station 312.

LODD- Fairbury Rural, NE Firefighter Darrell Parker, 56, died from injuries received in an accident while responding to a call.

Active- Firefighter Andrew C. Stowell, 26, of Hose Co. # 1 in Moorestown, NJ and former member and Lieutenant with the Moorestown Emergency Squad passed away on August 17th after suffering a major medical emergency. He also was an EMT for the Cherry Hill Fire Department and worked as an RN in the Emergency room at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, NJ.

Vaughn, MT Firefighter Douglas J. Casson, 46, passed away after he participated in department training.

LODD- Lecompte, LA Fire Chief Billy G. Norris, 62, passed away on July 21st not long after assisting at a medical emergency.

LODD- New Carlisle, IN Assistant Chief Jamie Middlebrook was killed in a building collapse.

LODD- Glendale, KY Firefighter Jonathan French, 23, was struck and killed by a semi while fighting a vehicle fire.

LODD- Klamath County, OR Wildland Firefighter Matthew D. Goodnature, 21, passed away from injuries sustained in a fall.

LODD- Volunteer Firefighter Richard Marchman, 66, of the Indian Peaks Fire Protection District in Colorado collapsed and died following the rescue of an injured hiker.

LODD- FDNY Lieutenant Gordon Ambelas, 40, was killed after becoming trapped on the 19th floor of a 21 story high rise during firefighting operations.

LODD- Houston, TX Firefighter Daniel Groove, 47, died from injuries received fighting a house fire.

LODD- Captain Robert Thomas, 52, of Ward 7 Fire District of Bienville Parish, LA was killed when the fire truck he was operating overturned into a ditch.

LODD- Three Forks, MT Fire Chief Todd Rummel was killed in an accident involving the fire apparatus he was driving.

LODD- Dayton, OH Firefighter Paramedic Rickie K. Halcomb, 56, passed away from Hepatitis C, whiche he was exposed to on June 6, 2000 at an incident.

LODD- Union Beach, NJ Firefighter Robert 'Hawk' Meyer, 54, collapsed at a fire scene and was unable to be revived.

LODD- Hungry Valley, NV Volunteer Assistant Chief Donovan Garcia Jr. , 52, collapsed on June 5th at a drill and was unable to be revived.

Baltimore County, MD Firefighter Robert Fogle III, 58, passed away after suffering a heart attack during training.

Battalion Chief John McDonald, 54, of the Naval Base FD in Washington D.C. passed away after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.

LODD- Wyoming Fire Crew Supervisor Ted Drake, 62, was participating in a fitness test for certification when he collapsed and subsequently passed away.

LODD- Lieutenant Jeffrey B. Newland, 50, of the North Port, FL Fire Department passed away on May 1st. He suffered a medical emergency within hours of his shift ending the week prior and had been hospitalized up until his death.

LODD- McQuady, KY Firefighter Charlie Goff, 53, suffered a heart attack and passed away after working at a motor vehicle accident.

LODD- Lake, WV Fire Chief George Underwood, 64, passed away after suffering a heart attack while helping at an incident.

Firefighter Edwin "Jeff" Wentzel of the Youngwood, PA Volunteer Fire Department was killed after being struck by a train while assisting in the search for a missing person.

LODD- Bright, IN Voluntteer Assistant Chief Tom D. Stevens Sr., 59, passed away from a medical emergency after responding to a call.

LODD- Peekskill, NY Firefighter Kevin Bristol, 48, died of an apparent heart attack after falling ill at a fire on March 3rd.

LODD- Firefighter Dwight Hilton, 57, of the East Central Volunteer Fire Department in Mississippi passed away after going into cardiac arrest while fighting a fire.

LODD- Firefighter Michael Garrett of the Nutter Fort, WV Fire Department was killed when a cell tower collapsed on him and 2 contractors.

LODD- Four Oaks, NC Firefighter Thomas Gerald Lee, 67, passed away on February 1st, within 24 hours of a response.
