Concord, NH retired Firefighter Micheal "Mikey" Corcoran has passed away. The following is courtesy of the Concord Firefighters Local 1045 posed on July 8th: Sad news this morning as our beloved brother Micheal "Mikey" Corcoran lost his short battle with occupational cancer. Brother Corcoran joined the Concord Fire Department as a Firefighter/EMT on June 12th, 1993 and retired February 17th, 2017. He held many titles - brother, son, father, proud grandfather, but most importantly he was a "jake". Countless of cherished memories continue to survive in those that worked with Mikey. Many retired now, but some are still working today. His passing leaves a stern reminder about the inherent dangers of this line of work, the silent killer hidden in the smoke, the burning rubble, and even our gear. Mikey, today we continue to answer the calls, one by one with heavy hearts. But always carrying on the tradition of taking care of others just as you enjoyed for 24 years.
